Our recommended aftercare

Most Important Care Tips!

  •  Do not introduce bacteria. This means no touching it!

  •  Do not move or rotate the jewelry

  •  Do not allow anything to push or pull on the jewelry

Cleaning

  • Spray your piercing with a sterile saline wound wash 3-4 times daily. NeilMed wound wash is recommended. You may use a paper towel or cloth to dry excess drips, but avoid touching anything to the jewelry or piercing, it will dry on its own! If any soap/shampoo/lotion gets on your piercing, be sure to rinse the piercing well.

  • For oral piercings, rinse 3 times daily with saline solution for 2 weeks. Avoid raw mushrooms, yogurt and beer for 2 weeks.

Throughout the Day

It’s very important not to do anything that will push or pull on your jewelry, such as;  sleeping on it, bumping into it, snagging it, touching the jewelry, etc. If you push and pull on the jewelry, it will in turn push and pull on the scar tissue, causing it to become irritated and swollen. This sometimes results in the formation of a hypertrophic scar, which looks like a big, red bubble next to your piercing. The only way to get rid of it is to stop irritating and/or putting pressure on the jewelry. That way, the scar tissue can calm down and unswell. Touching your piercing can also result in infection, as there is almost always bacteria on your hands.

*Swimming water and hot tubs are ill-advised for the first 6 weeks. Swim at your own risk*

Remember, although your piercing is pretty, it is a wound first and foremost, and therefore it will behave like a wound. Please respect and take good care of it.

Stop by to have us assess any concerns or problems you may be experiencing with your piercing. If there is any UNEXPECTED

rash, swelling, drainage or fever within 24 hours of piercing, we recommend consulting a health care provider.
